RASC News Agency: Public sources in Daikundi province say that members of the Taliban group in Sangtakht and Bandar districts of this province have beaten up two male teachers for teaching girls.
At least two reliable public sources in Sangtakht and Bandar districts of Daikundi province say that Wali Mohammad Sadiq, the governor of the Taliban group in this district, went to an educational center on Saturday, September 16 with five armed men under his command and beaten two of the teachers of this center.
The source says that the officials of the Taliban group imprisoned these two teachers after beating them, and with the intervention of local elders, they were released on guarantee a few hours later.
The source further added that the Taliban group beat and imprisoned these two teachers because they were teaching girls older than the sixth grade; if young children were also engaged in education in this educational center.
This is while the Taliban group has banned girls’ schools, universities and educational centers for girls after taking control of Afghanistan.
Although this group initially said that the education of girls above the sixth grade will be suspended “until further notice”; But after more than two years, all educational institutions are still closed to girls.
A source, who does not want to be identified, says that these teachers were teaching computer and English language to girls at the educational center (New Horizon) and this educational center was under the supervision of the institute (GRS).
According to the source, the center is still popularly known as “GRS”.
Another source also says that these two teachers are named Asadullah Halimi and Jamaluddin Payman, and they have been teaching computer and English language in this educational center for some time.
According to the source, the Taliban group had warned the officials of this educational center before; but this time they dealt with violence, humiliation, and insults.
