RASC News Agency: Richard Bennett, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan, announced his participation in the meeting of Afghanistani civil activists living in Germany and also requested an explanation about the ban on women’s entry to Band Amir National Park.
On Sunday, August 27, Bennett wrote on the X/Twitter social page that the topic of this meeting was the priorities of civil society members and international politics regarding Afghanistan.
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan wrote: “The participants emphasized that addressing the situation in Afghanistan is a global responsibility.”
On the other hand, Richard Bennett, the special rapporteur for human rights of the United Nations for Afghanistan, has demanded an explanation from the Taliban group about the ban on women’s entry to Band Amir National Park.
This is despite the fact that, the Acting Ministry of “Amr Bil Maruf” of the Taliban group, during a trip to Bamyan province, prohibited women and girls from going to Band Amir, a decision that has been met with reactions from women and girls.
Earlier, the German Foreign Ministry announced that German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock and Richard Bennett discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and support for the people of this country.
This ministry wrote on the X/Twitter social page on Thursday night, August 24, that Burbok pledged during this meeting that “he will not stop defending the human rights of the Afghanistani people and his support and solidarity with them is unbreakable.”
This is despite the fact that a number of civil activists, especially women protestors in the country, have repeatedly accused the international community of neglecting the situation in Afghanistan and have said that the international community has condemned the Taliban group with only one declaration despite the widespread violation of human rights in the country.
