RASC News Agency: Qatar’s foreign minister says that there is no “clear road map for the future of Afghanistan” after the Taliban regained control.

Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Sani emphasizes that in the absence of a comprehensive strategic review and road map for the future, it will be very dangerous to solve the small challenges and delay the solution of the big challenges of Afghanistan by the international community.

He also claims, “Non-engagement with the Taliban will create greater chaos and power vacuum” in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister of Qatar, who spoke at the Global Institute of Leadership Studies, has stated that although Doha facilitated the talks between the international community and the Taliban group; but there was no road map for the future of Afghanistan after August 2021, to solve the bigger challenges of Afghanistan.

Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Sani noted: “In the absence of a comprehensive strategic review and road map for the future, we only try to solve small problems and postpone bigger problems to the future.” Which, unfortunately, can be very dangerous.”

From the very beginning of the Taliban group’s domination of Afghanistan, Doha called the world to interact with them, and now Qatar’s foreign minister says that in the past two years, it has been “continuously interacting with the Taliban group, the United States of America, and NATO members”.

Qatar calls on the world to interact with the Taliban group while the international community has demands from the Taliban group such as respect for human rights, especially women’s rights, and the formation of an inclusive government; but on the contrary, the Taliban group has violated human rights and women’s rights and has not given any role to any other political movement except the members of this group.

This is despite the fact that more than two years have passed since the Taliban regained control over Afghanistan; But no country, even the countries that support this group, including Qatar and Pakistan, have come to recognize them. The United States of America has said that considering what the Taliban group is doing and violating women’s rights, their recognition will be a very distant issue.
