Discovery of 37 Ancient Sites in Baghlan Province

RASC: According to information and culture officials of Baghlan, 37 new ancient sites have been discovered in this province.

 Abdul Fattah Rahimi, the director of Baghlan Department of Information and Culture, said today, Tuesday June 13, that these ancient sites are located in the districts of Khost, Gozar Gah Noor, Fering, Nahrin, Central Baghlan and Pul Khomri.

According to him, the three areas discovered are from the Kushan period and the rest are the caravan of the Islamic era.


According to the information of the officials of Baghlan Department of Information and Culture, 012 group have started working to protect the discovered areas in order to prevent excavation and destruction of these areas. This is despite the fact that last week 16 ancient sites were discovered in Burka district of this province.
