RASC: Sources in Samangan province say that 9 bodyguards of Mullah Fazli, the governor of the Taliban group in this province, have been arrested on charges of smuggling 20 kilograms of opium.

Sources from the Taliban group told the media on Friday, May 19, that these people arrested by the forces belonging to the governor of the Taliban group in Roi Doab city, and then they transferred to the security command of this group in Aybak city.

According to sources, the bodyguards of Samangan governor arrested two days ago.

According to the sources, these people were transporting opium from Bamyan province, from Rui Doab district of Samangan to Aybak city, and they arrested.

On the other hand, other sources in the city of Aybak say that the dispute over the release of Samangan governor’s bodyguards is going on between Samangani and Helmandi Taliban groups.

The Taliban group has not said anything about this so far.

It should be mentioned that Mullah Fazli is a resident of Helmand province and after the dismissal of Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Kundzai, he was appointed as the governor of the Taliban group in Samangan.

Meanwhile, after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, the leader of this group, issued an order prohibiting the cultivation, purchase and trafficking of drugs.

Meanwhile the order, which issued from Kandahar province, and the local officials of the Taliban group in the provinces have not taken any practical steps.
