RASC News Agency: Well-informed sources have disclosed to RASC News Agency that Ustad Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, following the recent visit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials to Istanbul, has arrived in Tehran at the invitation of Iranian authorities. Representing the Supreme Council of Resistance, Sayyaf is scheduled to hold discussions with high-ranking Iranian officials and subsequently meet with several Afghanistani political figures in Tehran, as well as key members of the Taliban leadership. Sources emphasize that Donald Trump’s recent forceful rhetoric regarding the retrieval of U.S. military equipment from the Taliban and the potential redeployment of American forces to Afghanistan has been cited as a primary factor driving Sayyaf’s visit and negotiations with both Iranian officials and the Taliban. Additionally, sources reveal that Iran is actively working to mediate discussions between the Taliban leadership and Afghanistan resistance factions particularly the Supreme Council of Resistance and the National Resistance Front to facilitate the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, a senior member of the National Resistance Front (NRF) informed RASC News Agency that a high-level Iranian government delegation had recently traveled to Istanbul to engage with Afghan resistance leaders. As a result of these discussions, an agreement was reportedly reached for several prominent Afghanistani political figures, including Ahmad Massoud, to travel to Tehran under Iranian mediation to negotiate the formation of a coalition government in Afghanistan. Furthermore, a former diplomat from Afghanistan’s previous government told RASC News Agency that Iran is strategically working to fortify the Afghanistan resistance movement across the region, and Sayyaf’s visit to Tehran is seen as a crucial step within this broader initiative.

Sayyaf, alongside a delegation of Afghanistani political figures, has traveled to Tehran at Iran’s official invitation to engage in discussions with Iranian officials and a Taliban delegation. This diplomatic move comes amid the United States’ formal suspension of financial aid to the Taliban and Trump’s assertive remarks regarding efforts to reclaim American military assets from Afghanistan.
