RASC News Agency: Local sources in Parwan report that the Taliban has recently removed several Tajik officials from governmental positions, replacing them with their own members or Pashtun youth. According to these sources, the Taliban has intensified its ethnic purging within the government offices of Parwan, systematically dismissing Tajik and Farsi-speaking employees under various pretexts. The sources further allege that the Taliban has been expelling, demoting, and even imprisoning the remaining civil servants from the previous government, replacing them with loyalists, predominantly Pashtuns. Two Tajik government employees, recently released from Taliban custody, have confirmed that the group fabricated charges against them, leading to their imprisonment.
Upon their release, they were summarily dismissed without any explanation. Several Tajik employees in Parwan’s government offices have revealed that the Taliban has transferred some of them to remote provinces such as Helmand, Paktia, Paktika, and Nuristan. This has been perceived as an indirect expulsion, as working in these regions is extraordinarily difficult for many Tajiks. The Taliban has previously been accused of using various justifications to expel Tajik youth from their jobs, replacing them with members of their own group. Complaints regarding such practices are particularly prevalent in Tajik-majority provinces such as Takhar, Parwan, and Kapisa.
In another incident, the Taliban recently expelled all Tajik employees from the Baghlan Textile Factory, replacing them with individuals loyal to their regime. Similar reports have emerged from Kabul, Panjshir, and Kapisa.
