RASC News Agency: Local sources reported on Tuesday that Taliban gunmen executed ten members of a single family, including three women, in Ali Sher district of Khost province. The massacre occurred last night in the village of Bukhona. According to an additional source, the killings stemmed from a long-standing feud between two cousins, which dates back to the era of the Republic. Both individuals now serve in the Taliban’s intelligence apparatus. “At midnight, Taliban intelligence operatives stormed the residence of one cousin, executing his wife, children, and other family members,” the source disclosed.
A voice recording, purportedly from a resident of a neighboring village, has surfaced on social media, corroborating claims that the massacre was perpetrated by Taliban intelligence operatives. Meanwhile, the Taliban’s provincial police command in Khost issued a statement on X, alleging that the killings were carried out by unidentified gunmen. The statement added that the Taliban are conducting an investigation into the incident. This is not the first instance in which Taliban members have exploited their positions and weaponry to execute civilians with impunity. The group has a history of summarily executing Afghanistani civilians under obscure pretexts.
Previously, in Alingar district of Laghman province, Taliban members engaged in a violent family dispute, resulting in the death of one individual and the injury of two others. Despite repeatedly attributing such killings to unknown assailants, the Taliban themselves assert that no other armed groups operate in Afghanistan an admission that renders them solely accountable for the systematic executions taking place under their rule.
