RASC News Agency: Reliable sources from Faryab province report a tragic incident in Qaisar district, where a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife and two-year-old daughter. The crime, confirmed by at least three sources close to the perpetrator, took place on Tuesday night, November 26, in the village of Qahashqar within Qaisar district. The suspect, identified as Mohammad Dawood, is originally from the village of Sanjadak in Chahargazi district, Faryab province. According to the sources, Dawood and his family were visiting relatives in Qahashqar village when the incident occurred.
Reports indicate that he fatally shot his wife and daughter at the residence of their hosts before fleeing the scene. The wife, named Fatima, was approximately 22 years old and reportedly pregnant at the time of her death. Their two-year-old daughter, Atiya, also fell victim to this brutal act. Sources confirm that Dawood used a pistol to carry out the murders. Preliminary investigations suggest the killings were the result of domestic disputes. Local authorities in Faryab have yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident.
Since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, incidents of mysterious killings targeting women, children, and youth have risen alarmingly across the country, with Faryab province witnessing a particularly significant increase. Experts attribute these tragedies to a combination of factors, including mental health disorders, personal vendettas, forced marriages, domestic violence, and the psychological strain caused by poverty and widespread unemployment.
The Taliban’s takeover has also led to the suspension of most women’s rights organizations across Afghanistan. Consequently, women facing violence can no longer access judicial or legal systems for redress, leaving such incidents unresolved and perpetuating a cycle of abuse and neglect.
