Residents of Daykundi Build a Football Field in a Remote Mountainous Region with Personal Funds

RASC News Agency: Residents of Daykundi province have undertaken the construction of a football field in a remote mountainous area, using their personal funds to address the lack of recreational facilities. According to local sources, villagers from Sarqal Nik, located in the Miramor district of Daykundi, have initiated the project independently. It has been reported that neighboring communities are also contributing to this effort, showcasing a spirit of collective action.

Sarqal Nik, a remote and rugged village in Miramor, lacks flat terrain suitable for football due to its mountainous landscape. To overcome this challenge, the villagers have pooled their resources to level a hilltop and create a proper playing field. The initiative is driven by the residents’ desire to provide a recreational space for their youth and children. A local resident revealed that approximately 200,000 kabuli rupees have been raised for the project so far. However, this amount falls short of the funds needed to construct a large, standard football field.

The resident also mentioned that the leveling process has been contracted to an excavator operator at a rate of 2,900 kabuli rupees per hour. Despite limited resources, the villagers are determined to complete the project and are seeking additional financial assistance to achieve their goal. “Our aim is to build a proper football field for the younger generation, giving them a space to relax and engage in recreational activities,” one resident explained. He highlighted the importance of having such facilities for the youth during their free hours, particularly when they are not occupied with studies.

The residents of Daykundi have long emphasized the importance of education and the creation of recreational facilities for the well-being of their youth. This latest initiative is part of a broader trend in Daykundi, where residents have previously built schools, playgrounds, and recreational spaces through personal contributions, reflecting their resilience and commitment to community development.
