RASC News Agency: Local sources in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, report a devastating explosion on Saturday, October 5, near the “Abdul-Wadud Shaheed” school, resulting in significant casualties among Taliban members. Eyewitnesses state that the intended target of the attack was Mullah Jan Mohammad, the province’s police chief, who was celebrating his third marriage at the time of the incident. According to sources, his children were injured in the blast, while Mullah Jan Mohammad himself sustained minor injuries due to being inside an armored vehicle.

Mullah Jan Mohammad is notorious for his brutal actions as a key figure within the Taliban, reportedly responsible for the extrajudicial killing of dozens of innocent civilians in the province under fabricated accusations. The explosion led to numerous deaths and injuries among Taliban supporters, with several of Mullah Jan Mohammad’s personal allies being affected. Medical officials at Takhar hospital confirmed that Mullah Jan Mohammad suffered a severe leg injury.

For the past three years, the Taliban’s principal activities have revolved around polygamous marriages, mosque construction, and mass killings of civilians based on unfounded allegations. Mullah Jan Mohammad, who previously had two wives, held his latest wedding in Takhar, utilizing state resources for the celebration. While prominent Taliban commanders indulge in extravagant wedding ceremonies, the majority of Afghanistani citizens, driven by extreme poverty and deprivation, continue to flee the country, seeking refuge in neighboring states.
