Taliban Execute Former Soldier in Bagram District, Parwan Province

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Parwan Province report that the Taliban, in their continued acts of vengeance, have detained and executed a former special forces soldier in the province. On Tuesday, August 6, sources revealed to the media that the victim, Fahim Qazi-Khani, was abducted by Taliban forces from Kapisa Province and subsequently killed in the Bagram District of Parwan Province.

According to the sources, the deceased was originally from the village of Charbarj in the Jabul-Saraj District of Parwan Province. A few days prior, he had been visiting relatives in the village of Raig Rawan in Kapisa Province. The sources added that Taliban intelligence forces apprehended Fahim Qazi-Khani while he was traveling from his relatives’ home back to Parwan. He was taken to an undisclosed location.

After several days, Fahim Qazi-Khani’s body was discovered in Bagram District, Parwan Province, and was subsequently transferred to the provincial hospital. The sources further disclosed that Fahim Qazi-Khani’s Kapisa-based relatives had a hand in his murder, providing the Taliban’s intelligence forces with detailed information about him. According to the sources, since the Taliban’s takeover of the country, Fahim Qazi-Khani had been unemployed and engaged in farming in his village. Local Taliban authorities in Parwan Province have yet to comment on the incident. This execution is part of a broader pattern of retribution, with the Taliban previously detaining, torturing, and even killing former military personnel.

The Taliban’s persistent persecution of former military members has created a climate of fear and uncertainty. Since their return to power, many ex-servicemen and their families have lived in constant dread of retaliation. The Taliban’s actions have further eroded trust and stability within communities, as familial betrayal, as seen in the case of Fahim Qazi-Khani, has become a distressing reality. This atmosphere of suspicion and fear underscores the challenges faced by former soldiers trying to rebuild their lives in post-conflict Afghanistan.
