RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab province report that Pashtun members of the Taliban have attacked the home of Sakhi Rais, the former police chief of Shirin Tagab district in Faryab. Sources informed the media on Friday, July 12, that Taliban forces assaulted the residence of this former government official, forcing his family into compulsory displacement.

According to these sources, Taliban forces threw out all the household belongings of the former official and brutally assaulted his wife and children. Sakhi Rais stated to the media that his house and agricultural land were purchased by his father forty years ago. This incident highlights the ongoing retaliatory actions by the Taliban against former regime employees, despite their public declarations of a general amnesty.

The Taliban have repeatedly detained and, in some instances, killed military personnel and government employees from the previous administration under various pretexts in several provinces. In a recent incident, Taliban members arrested a former local uprising commander named Pahlawan Shakib from Takhar province.

Sources informed the media that on Wednesday afternoon, July 10, Taliban forces arrested Pahlawan Shakib after searching his home in the village of “Samti” in Chah Ab district, Takhar.
