RASC News Agency: Local sources from Malistan district in Ghazni province report that on Saturday, the Taliban forcibly gathered people at gunpoint to watch the punishment of two accused individuals. On Monday, July 1, sources informed the media that the Taliban closed the gates of the school, clinic, and market, compelling residents to witness the flogging of a woman and a man accused of extramarital relations.

According to sources, these two individuals were publicly flogged by the Taliban in the Malistan district market of Ghazni province. The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced on Sunday, June 30, that an individual in Malistan district, Ghazni, was publicly flogged and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. Local residents reported that during the flogging, the Taliban forced people at gunpoint to watch the punishment.

According to reports, the Taliban judge warned the people of Malistan district that women are not allowed to roam without proper hijab and a male guardian. Additionally, local sources indicated that the Taliban confiscated phones and searched residents to prevent the filming of the flogging.

Despite widespread criticism, the Taliban have continued public punishments since their takeover, deeming them a “lesson” for others.
