RASC News Agency: Local sources from Farah province report that, amid a series of suicides in various provinces, a man recently took his own life in this region. Sources informed the media that on Tuesday, June 25, the man committed suicide in the village of Barangki in the Pusht-e-Rud district of Farah province.

According to sources, the individual hanged himself, and local Taliban officials in Farah have confirmed the incident. Bakhtar News Agency, operated by the Taliban, reported that Muhammad Anwar Feroz, the Taliban governor of Pusht-e-Rud district, indicated their investigation revealed the individual was addicted to drugs.

This Taliban official identified the man as Abdul Khaliq and stated that he hanged himself while under the influence of drugs. The incidence of suicides among citizens, particularly women, girls, and young people, has significantly increased since the Taliban’s takeover.

In a recent incident, two women and one man committed suicide in Faryab province within 48 hours due to various reasons, including family problems. Poverty, unemployment, economic hardships, domestic violence, and mental health issues are among the leading causes of suicide among citizens, especially the youth.

Since the Taliban’s takeover, economic difficulties, domestic violence, and mental health issues have intensified among the population.
