RASC News Agency: The European Union has announced a €146 million aid allocation to Afghanistan aimed at addressing the humanitarian crisis and assisting Afghanistani migrants in Iran and Pakistan. In a statement issued on Monday, June 10, the Union underscored that these contributions are geared towards averting famine in Afghanistan.
The humanitarian aid division of the European Commission disclosed that nearly €126 million would be earmarked for aid organizations operating within Afghanistan. This funding will be channeled into food assistance, shelter, medical services, and the provision of clean drinking water. The European Union revealed details of this aid package subsequent to a meeting of senior representatives from the global community convened in Brussels to address the Afghanistan crisis.
Furthermore, the European Union specified that €15 million from this allocation will be dedicated to educating approximately 8 million out-of-school children, encompassing 1.4 million girls. Additionally, more than €7 million will be allocated to support Afghanistani refugees in Pakistan, with an additional €11 million set aside for Afghanistani refugees in Iran.
Previously, Denmark also announced aid surpassing $7 million for the Afghanistani people, designated for various sectors.
