RASC News Agency: Local sources from Baghlan Province report that Qari Mehrabuddin Bilal, the current Director of Agriculture for the Taliban in Badakhshan, has forcibly married a seventeen-year-old girl without her consent, making her his third wife. Sources revealed on Saturday, May 25th, that Bilal committed this act nearly three months ago when he was serving as the Director of Agriculture for the Taliban in Baghlan Province.

According to the sources, Qari Mehrabuddin paid the girl’s father 1.5 million Kabuli rupees in exchange for the marriage. Reports indicate that Bilal, also known as Haji Bilal, initially sought to marry a young woman from the Aliabad district of Kunduz. However, she strongly opposed the marriage. Ultimately, he married another seventeen-year-old girl from the same district after paying her father.

Sources stated that this Taliban official was appointed as the Director of Agriculture for Badakhshan Province about a week ago, having previously held the same position in Baghlan. Reports suggest that numerous Taliban officials across various provinces have engaged in multiple marriages, prompting the Taliban leader to address this issue.

Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, during his visit to Kabul last Wednesday night, issued an order instructing commanders and officials to refrain from taking more than one wife.
