RASC News Agency: Certain members of the non-Pashtun Taliban hailing from Balkh, Panjshir, Kapisa, and Parwan provinces, echoing Abdul Hamid Khorasani’s sentiments, assert that they will take action if ethnic bias persists within their ranks. In video recordings dispatched by the non-Pashtun Taliban to the media outlet Aamaj News, they implore the leadership to confront ethnic bias prevailing among Taliban members.
In the wake of the Taliban’s assumption of power in the nation, this represents the inaugural instance wherein non-Pashtun Taliban members openly deliberate on opposing intra-group ethnic bias. Earlier, reputable sources relayed to the press that Abdul Hamid Khorasani, commander of the Badri Brigade and of Tajik descent within the Taliban ranks, has relinquished his arms to the group and stepped down from his position.
As per these sources, Khorasani arrived at this decision owing to discontentment with the present circumstances, and he personally verified the news, affirming that he is not disloyal, and although he is capable of anything, he refrains from acting recklessly.Abdul Hamid Khorasani articulated: “We can no longer endure your ignorance, prejudice, ethnic partiality, affronts, and defamation. Our forbearance and authority have reached their zenith, and we can no longer stand beside you as subordinates and lackeys.”
Previously, reports highlighting biases and ethnic favoritism among Pashtun Taliban members had surfaced, signifying the group’s preference for Pashtun individuals over others.
