A Young Man Takes His Own Life in Takhar Province

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Takhar province report that a young man recently died by suicide in the province. On Wednesday, May 8, sources informed the media that the incident occurred the previous night in the Khataiyan area of Taluqan, the capital of Takhar province.

According to sources, the young man, identified as Nasrullah, was 25 years old and took his life by ingesting rat poison. Sources link his suicide to poverty and hardship. The suicide rate among citizens has risen since the Taliban seized control of the country, attributed to increased poverty and the group’s severe restrictions on people’s lives.

In a previous incident, an 18-year-old young man in the Baghlan-e-Markazi district of Baghlan province took his life by shooting himself with a Kalashnikov rifle.

Experts suggest that conducting awareness seminars on mental health, creating educational and employment opportunities for young people, and implementing programs to increase family awareness are potential measures to prevent such incidents.
