RASC News Agency: The Supreme Court of the Taliban group has recently announced that six individuals, including a woman, have been publicly flogged on charges of “sodomy and adultery” in Mohammad Agha district, Logar province, before the public. On Saturday, Apr 6, the Supreme Court of the Taliban, in a statement released on the X network, declared that these individuals were found guilty based on the verdict of the district’s initial court and were punished accordingly.

The statement further specified that each of these individuals received 39 lashes, 35 lashes, and 25 lashes, respectively, and three individuals were sentenced to one year of imprisonment, while three others were sentenced to two years of imprisonment. The Taliban group has recently intensified the public punishment of accused individuals across the country.

This approach by the Taliban group has elicited both internal and external reactions. Recently, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the public punishment of the accused in a statement and urged for a change in the repressive policies and ad hoc courts of this group.
