RASC News Agency: Reliable sources from Kabul University have indicated a worsening situation at the institution due to the absence of qualified professors across various departments. These sources informed the media on Sunday, Mar 31, that the Department of General History within the Faculty of Social Sciences is grappling with a scarcity of expert faculty, resulting in the recruitment of inexperienced professors.
According to these sources, these appointments have been made based on personal preferences of university authorities, disregarding academic qualifications or teaching capabilities. Meanwhile, over the past two years, the Taliban have reassigned a significant number of clerics from religious schools to roles as professors and academic staff at universities following their takeover of the country.
Furthermore, the Taliban have conferred bachelor’s degrees upon hundreds of students from religious schools and announced the abolition of the previous higher education system. Recently, the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education conducted examinations for over three thousand students from religious schools in the southern Helmand province.
The ministry declared that these students could acquire university bachelor’s degrees upon successfully passing the examination.
