RASC News Agency: The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has recently asserted in a report that women affected by the deadly earthquakes in Herat must urgently receive support. The organization stated on Wednesday, Feb 21, that children and women bore the brunt of the earthquakes and aftershocks in Herat province, emphasizing the urgent need for assistance for these individuals.

Meanwhile, the organization has indicated that 275,000 individuals were affected by the earthquakes on October 7, 11, and 15, 2023, with 17,358 of them being women and 17,146 being children. This comes as Herat province witnessed the deadliest and most severe earthquakes in October of the previous year, resulting in significant financial and human losses.

It is noteworthy that despite several months passing since the occurrence of these events, some families have still been unable to establish favorable living conditions for themselves, underscoring the heightened necessity for assistance from international organizations for these families.
