RASC News Agency: Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Taliban’s cabinet, has issued a call to all Afghanistani citizens residing outside the country to return to their homeland in his latest address. Hanafi delivered these statements on Thursday, February 15th, during a ceremony held in Kabul commemorating the “35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.”
He asserted that currently, “no Afghanistani citizen” is listed on the Taliban’s blacklist. This Taliban official continues to commemorate the April 27th Coup, which took place on April 27th, 1978, in Afghanistan, marking it as the “commencement of misery” in the country. Hanafi emphasized, “Following the April 27th Coup, the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of half a million Afghanistanis and the displacement of millions more.”
Meanwhile, Noor Mohammad Saqib, the acting minister of Information, Hajj, and Endowments of the Taliban, also addressed the gathering, stating: “Just as the Taliban refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of others, others do not have the right to interfere in their affairs.” While the Taliban encourage Afghanistani citizens to return to the country, reports suggest that during their more than two years of dominance, they have subjected security forces and officials of the previous government to harassment, detention, and even death.
Moreover, following the seizure of control in the country, the Taliban have imposed numerous restrictions on citizens’ way of life, prompting more people to seek refuge outside Afghanistan.
