RASC News Agency: Turkish authorities have announced that, following the detention of Afghanistani refugees, police forces in the country have recently apprehended an additional 69 Afghanistani refugees in the city of Diyarbakir. According to reports from Turkish media released on Sunday, Feb 11, police forces detained these refugees from a truck at the inspection point in the “Cinar” district of Diyarbakir.

Among the detained migrants, three other refugees from Pakistani and Bangladeshi backgrounds are also included. Police forces have stated that during the operation, one person was apprehended on charges of “human trafficking.” According to the Ministry of Interior’s statistics in Turkey in 2023, 68,687 Afghanistani migrants have been detained nationwide, and some of them have been deported.

This comes as, following the Taliban’s takeover, the migration of citizens to neighboring and regional countries has increased.
