RASC News Agency: According to local sources from Herat province, Iranian border guards shot and injured an Afghanistani citizen at the Islam Qala border. Sources stated on Wednesday, Feb 7, that the incident occurred yesterday afternoon in the “Bonyad” area near the Iran border.

The young man, identified as Mohammad Amin, was shot by guards from the “Cheshme Shir” border post in Iran, with the bullet hitting his leg, according to sources. Iranian border authorities and Taliban officials in Herat have not commented on the incident yet. Bonyad is considered one of the bordering villages with Iran, primarily used by Afghanistani citizens for illegal crossings into Iran.

It is worth noting that following the Taliban’s control over the country, the number of illegal migrations of Afghanistani citizens to neighboring countries, especially Iran, has increased.
