RASC News Agency: The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has reported in its latest update to the U.S. Congress that the Al-Qaeda leader, likely situated in Afghanistan, has issued statements calling for assaults on embassies and structures of the United States, Europe, and Israel. According to SIGAR’s quarterly briefing presented to the U.S. Congress on Thursday, Feb 1, Al-Qaeda threats in Afghanistan are resurfacing.

This SIGAR report delves into matters such as the scope of U.S. aid to Afghanistan post-Taliban assumption of power, as well as the economic and human rights conditions in Afghanistan under this regime. As per the U.S. Special Inspector for Afghanistan Reconstruction’s assessment, subsequent to the Israel-Hamas conflict, three communiques from the Al-Qaeda leader stationed in Afghanistan have been disseminated, urging assaults on embassies and structures of the United States, Europe, and Israel.

SIGAR underscores in this report that with the escalation of ISIS attacks on Hazaras and Shiites in Afghanistan, terrorist threats in Afghanistan under Taliban rule have endured over the past three months. Previously, the United Nations Security Council disclosed that the Taliban faction continues to uphold its connections with the Al-Qaeda network and has established eight new training centers in various provinces of the country.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, rebuffed the United Nations Security Council’s report, labeling it as false, and asserted that no individual affiliated with the Al-Qaeda network is present in Afghanistan under the governance of this faction.
