RASC News Agency: In Kabul province, recent events unfold a narrative as the Taliban faction, unwavering in their opposition to education and knowledge, have apprehended Jawid Noorzad Kakar, the deputy of student affairs at “Roshan Afghanistan Online University.” This distressing revelation emerged through media outlets on Sunday, January 14, disclosing that Mr. Kakar had been taken into custody five days prior by the Taliban’s intelligence forces near Kabul city, subsequently being transported to an undisclosed location.

The reason behind Kakar’s detention by the Taliban’s intelligence forces ostensibly traces back to his association with “Roshan Afghanistan Online University.” Established on December 20, 2022, in response to the Taliban faction’s edict prohibiting girls from attending school, this institution has become a virtual haven for select girls seeking education online. Despite earnest efforts by Kakar’s colleagues and family to ascertain his fate, the situation remains shrouded in uncertainty, and the Taliban faction has chosen to remain silent on the matter.

This development unfolds in tandem with the Taliban Group’s edict, banning girls beyond the sixth grade from attending school, and subsequently sealing the doors of universities to female students following their ascension to power. In defiance of the Taliban Group’s constraints on girls’ education, a considerable number of Afghanistani girls have turned to online universities for learning. It is worth noting that some students have voiced concerns about challenges in this domain, such as sluggish internet speeds and the associated financial burden.
