RASC News Agency: Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, announced that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party in Pakistan, will be visiting Kabul in an upcoming trip. Mujahid shared this information on the X media platform, stating that Fazl-ur-Rehman is expected to lead a delegation arriving in Kabul on Sunday, January 7. It’s worth noting that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had previously expressed his intention to travel to Afghanistan at the invitation of Mullah Hibatullah Akhunzada, the leader associated with the Taliban group, to discuss matters related to “TTP.”
Meanwhile, certain Pakistani media outlets have reported that religious scholars from various regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Karachi, like Mullah Salahuddin Ayubi and Mullah Jamaluddin, are anticipated to accompany Fazl-ur-Rehman on this journey. According to Taliban sources, Fazl-ur-Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, is making this trip to Afghanistan with the aim of improving relations between his group and Pakistan. Recent reports suggest that relations between the Taliban group and the interim government of Pakistan have become strained.
This news aligns with Pakistani reports indicating an increased rate of terrorist attacks against the military in Pakistan after the Taliban’s control over Afghanistan. There are accusations against the Taliban for a lack of cooperation in preventing “TTP” attacks. Additionally, the Peace Studies Center of Pakistan previously reported a 17% increase in armed attacks in 2023, highlighting that 78% of these attacks were carried out by the Pakistani Taliban, ISIS, and the Baloch Liberation Army.
