RASC News Agency: In accordance with reports, the Taliban group has unveiled a book entitled “Thalith Omar,” delving into the intricate tapestry of the life and accomplishments of Mullah Mohammad Omar, the founder of the Taliban. Authored by Abdul Sattar Saeed, a member of the Taliban, this voluminous 543-page opus has been crafted in Persian, Pashto, and Arabic. At the unveiling ceremony, Mullah Abdul Mannan, sibling to Mullah Omar and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs within the group, articulated that “Mullah Omar averted Afghanistan’s descent into disarray.”
A scholarly critique session of Mullah Omar’s literary contribution transpired yesterday, on December 30th, within the confines of the Radio and Television Hall of Afghanistan, under the auspices of the Taliban. Members of the group graced the occasion with their presence. In the course of the book unveiling ceremony, Mullah Yaqoub, the Defense Minister of the Taliban, and Mullah Omar’s son attested to the authenticity of the literary contents, vehemently affirming the absence of any “falsities” therein. They underscored that “Thalith Omar” is held in high esteem as a “priceless” historical artifact.
Reportedly, this marks the inaugural literary endeavor presenting primary sources on the life of Mullah Omar. The book proffers profound insights into Mullah Omar’s existence, encapsulating details regarding his family and intimate confidants during his tenure as the erstwhile leader of the Taliban.
However, the dissemination of this literary work by the Taliban has not been immune to criticism from discerning individuals. Haleem Fedaiee, a luminary from the echelons of the prior government, reacted to the contents of the book, pronouncing, “The epoch of righteous caliphs has drawn to a close, and Mullah Omar was neither a righteous caliph nor a fully-fledged scholar.” He appended that “Mullah Omar lacked any comprehension of Quranic interpretation; he was, in essence, an unpretentious and ordinary cleric.”
