RASC News Agency: Local sources in Ghor province have recently verified two incidents of shop robberies in Tolak district’s market within the last month. According to these sources, the robbers specifically targeted cash and property from shops, raising concerns about security in the province. Notably, these shops are situated less than 140 meters away from the Taliban security command office in the district. Despite the Taliban’s proclaimed efforts to decrease criminal activities in the country since assuming control, there has been no official response from the Taliban group in Ghor province regarding these incidents.
Contrary to the Taliban’s assurances, reports indicate a surge in criminal offenses nationwide. Many citizens suspect the Taliban’s involvement in these criminal events, particularly in cases of mysterious and targeted murders, as well as armed robberies. In a parallel incident, residents of Sancharak district in Sar-e-Pol province reported that Taliban members entered their homes at night and stole their belongings. Shockingly, some individuals who sought to file complaints with the Taliban governor of Sancharak district discovered that these robberies were carried out with the governor’s apparent support.
The escalating criminal offenses across various provinces of the country raise serious concerns. The recent shop robberies in Tolak district, Ghor province, underscore the imperative for heightened security measures. It is crucial for the Taliban group to address these issues promptly and take effective actions to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens. The alleged involvement of the Taliban in criminal activities not only contradicts their claims of crime reduction but also diminishes public trust in their ability to govern competently.
