RASC News Agency: Local officials of the Taliban group have confirmed the death of a woman in Nuristan province. According to a newsletter released by the Taliban security command for Nuristan province on December 9th, the incident occurred in the Bagrupti area of Kantiwa district. The newsletter states that the conflict between two families led to the woman’s death.
The Taliban group’s newsletter provides further details on the incident. It explains that the conflict escalated after a legal dispute between the two families. Habibullah, a local resident, and his friends allegedly resorted to gunfire, resulting in the death of the woman. In response, the Taliban forces in Nuristan province have taken action and apprehended Habibullah and four of his friends in connection with the shooting and killing of the woman.
It is important to note that similar incidents have occurred in Nuristan and other provinces, often stemming from legal disputes, land conflicts, and family disputes. In most of the cases, women have frequently been the victims. Furthermore, since the Taliban regained control of the country, violence against women has seen an alarming rise in various provinces. In the most recent case, the body of a young girl was discovered in a river in Takhar, highlighting the urgent need for measures to address and prevent such violence.
Following the Taliban’s rise to power, there has been a surge in the occurrence of enigmatic and deliberate homicides. The absence of a functioning judicial body has left these crimes uninvestigated and unresolved.
