RASC News Agency: Reports from Ghazni indicate that the Taliban group has confiscated the phones of 25 employees working for a contractor organization affiliated with the World Food Program (WFP) in the province. This incident occurred in the Rashidan district of Ghazni on Saturday, December 9th. The reasons behind the confiscation of the phones remain unknown. The affected individuals are employees of the HEAITHO Institute, an agency collaborating with the World Food Program.
Despite their efforts to retrieve their phones from the Taliban group, the employees have been unsuccessful, and the motive behind the confiscation remains unclear. This situation has disrupted the flow of work and assistance to the residents of the district, as the employees are unable to continue their work without their phones. The Taliban group in Ghazni has not provided any comment regarding the confiscation of the phones, despite previous reports of their harassment of international relief workers for various reasons.
According to sources, the Taliban group’s intelligence had previously detained 18 employees of the International Assistance Institute in Ghor province. This incident, coupled with the inappropriate treatment of aid workers by the Taliban, has sparked significant reactions from relevant institutions. The behavior of the Taliban group towards aid workers not only hinders the distribution of aid to those in need but also elicits widespread condemnation and concern. The confiscation of phones and the mistreatment of aid workers by the Taliban group pose significant challenges to humanitarian efforts in the region.
