RASC News Agency: Operated under the management of the Taliban group, the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society has recently declared the receipt of a second humanitarian aid package from Qatar for the victims of the Herat earthquake. As elucidated in a bulletin released on Monday, December 4th, the aid encompasses 62 tons of both food and non-food items dispatched to Herat province to aid those impacted by the earthquake. The assistance comprises 1,000 sanitary packages, 1,643 food packages, 3,450 blankets, 20 tons of dates, and 250 tents.
Despite the delivery of previous aid packages from Qatari charities last week, encompassing food, blankets, and sanitary items, the plight of the Herat earthquake victims persists. The earthquake, which transpired almost three months ago, resulted in the loss of thousands of lives, injuries to thousands more, and substantial damage to residential structures and facilities. Numerous victims still grapple with a lack of access to basic necessities, enduring challenging conditions.
Endeavors by the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, bolstered by Qatari support, strive to alleviate the suffering of the earthquake victims in Herat province. Nevertheless, it is evident that additional assistance is imperative to enhance living conditions and furnish necessary facilities for those affected. The international community must persist in supporting these humanitarian initiatives to ensure the well-being and recovery of the earthquake victims.
