RASC News Agency: Clare Daly, Ireland’s representative in the European Parliament, castigated the European Union’s allocation of aid to the people of Afghanistan. Daly, critiquing the EU’s international aid distribution policies, asserted that evidence suggests hindrance in delivering aid to the populations of Palestine and Afghanistan. She emphasized, “Humanitarian aid from the European Union must increase. European Commission reports reveal obstruction of aid to the people of Palestine and Afghanistan when they are in dire need.”
Daly also highlighted that around three thousand lives were lost in the devastating earthquakes that struck Herat province on, October 7th, yet this news remained unreported in the newspapers. Regarding the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan and Iran, she noted that over a million Afghanistani migrants are being expelled from Iran and Pakistan without any place to go. Daly continued, “These people are confronting a deadly winter, yet they receive only a fraction of the $400 million World Bank budget allocated for food.”
This situation unfolds as, subsequent to the Taliban’s assumption of power in Afghanistan, the inflow of international aid to the country has dwindled, precipitating an economic crisis. Notably, relief organizations in Afghanistan assert that due to budget constraints, they are unable to furnish necessary assistance to destitute families and individuals. It is noteworthy that, following the Taliban Group’s takeover in Afghanistan, poverty and unemployment in the country have surged to unprecedented levels, evoking significant concerns among the nation’s populace.
