RASC News Agency: While the “Pashtun” the wandering tribes began to appear gradually after the fall of Nadir Afshar’s rule in 18th century AD in greater Khorasan, this tribe, during the reign of Yahya dynasty, falsified history to create identity through culture, language, and tribal supremacy. The tribe created a false history called (Hidden Treasure) and fabricated stories such as Malalai, Maiwand and Nazwana.
The creator of the false book of (Hidden Treasure), Abdul Hai Habibi, is a historian from the city of Kandahar who collaborated with the tribal regime of the time and falsified history to use the fake book of Hidden Treasure to establish tribal and linguistic superiority. The presence of Pashtun in the geography of greater Khorasan and the identity of this nomadic tribe in this country to establish cultural, historic and identity roots.
Abdul Hai Habibi claimed that the author of the fake book “Hidden Treasure” was a person called Mohammad bin Dawood Hotaki. According to Habibi, without citing any sources and using his imagination, he claimed to have found the copy of “Hidden Treasure” in Quetta in the year 1322.
This forger historian also wrote in the rule of Al Yahi family: “I presented the (Hidden Treasure) to the fans of national literature and it was the subject of great affection of His Highness Sardar Mohammad Naeem Khan, the Minister of Education at that time.”, Sardar Mohammad Naeem Khan was one of the tribal members of Amanullah’s government. For the first time during his time, the plan of tribal supremacy and Pashtunization of the north, which was founded during the time of Abdul Rahman, became a practical aspect with the approval of the (Charter of carriers to Qatagan) and the practical transfer of Pashtuns to the north.
After a cultural study of this fake book (Hidden Treasure) by domestic and foreign historians, it was proven that this book “Hidden Treasure” is a forgery and was made by Abdul Haibibi and his cronies to support the tribal system at that time, which would later become the pashtun tribal system of this false identity. They have created a fake work under the title of a historical work in the country’s cultural gatherings and based this fake work on which they have created the historical and cultural basis for the Pashto language.
In addition to proving that (Hidden Treasure) is a forgery or that Pashtunism is a pseudoscientific construct used for ethnic identification by contemporary historians of Afghanistan, several foreign scholars of Afghanistan have also described this book as a forgery and tribal construction.
Professor Mikhailovich, a Russian scholar of Afghanistan studies, wrote about the book (Hidden Treasure) or the fake identity of Pashtunism: “Hidden Treasure, which is an Afghani poetic work, which is said to have been written and collected in the 8th century, does not have an Afghani origin.”
On the other hand, contemporary historians of the country have said with historical studies and historiographic criteria about this fake work of Pashtunism, false and fake identification is not only for the benefit of the Pashtun tribe, but it has damaged their identity more than before.
Mir Mohammad Sediq Farhang, a contemporary historian of the country, has said that the way that Abdul Hai Habibi chose to forge the book (Hidden Treasure) was a way that both corresponded to the political opinion of the power at that time and strengthened his position among the newly emerging class and Pashtun intellectuals. He went in search of works that confirm the superiority of Pashto language over Persian language in terms of originality, tradition, etc.
According to the narrative of this master Afghanistani historian, since Habibi did not succeed in discovering such works, he attempted to forge, because according to Mr. Habibi, he discovered the (Hidden Treasure) in Quetta and because it was in accordance with the principles of the tribal government at that time. The tribal rule did not allow to think and criticize this fictional book also they published in the government printing house, included for the school curriculum and one of the fake sources in any research about the history of Afghanistan.
On the other hand, a number of Afghanistani historians called it a fake narration, for creating the Pashtun Identity Book or(Hidden Treasure) and imposing this cross-border identity on the genuine citizens of Khorasani by the Pashtun tribal rulers in the country, have said that nothing will go forward with forgery, deception and innuendo. According to Baihaqi, the Pashtun tribes in the country, if they want the problem of Hidden Treasure not to become more chaotic than this, the body and dignity of the remaining Pashtuns in Afghanistan should not be affected any more as forgers, liars and deceivers, so the issue of this fake book should be revealed and solved.
He said: “Pashtun tribes should expose the original version of this book “Hidden Treasure” to the research and follow-up of local and foreign copyists and accept the researchers’ reasons.”
At the same time, Dr. Sadiq Fitrat, one of the researchers of Pashto language literature, called (Hidden Treasure), Nazwanan and Malali fake and said that the Pashto language has no written history of more than four hundred years. Moreover, history is facing that: “You can read, understand and finally get a doctorate in this language from A to Z in just three months, while in the world; we have other languages that you have to learn about for a lifetime. They want research to be done and life is not enough to go deeper.”
This Pashtun researcher, calling the identity of this tribe fake in order to claim superiority over other ethnic groups of the country, has said: “A person should not deliberately make himself deaf and blind in front of the reality.”
According to him: “By falsifying the Pashtun identity in order to claim superiority over other languages and identities, including the Persian language, not only have these tribal kings not served the Pashtun language and the Pashtuns, but they have also taken away the reputation of the Pashtuns.”
This Pashtun linguist doctor considered Hidden Treasure to be the product of Abdul Hai Habibi’s false fantasies and said: “Hidden Treasure is a pure forgery. If this book were true and Abdul Hai Habibi wrote about how to find and check its content, it would be a way to justify it. We had, but in the same very simple sentence, he unintentionally admitted that the Hidden Treasure is his own creation.”
According to him, a large number of Pashtuns, knowing the main truth of their identity, history and the falsification of this historical identity by the tribal rulers and tribal supremacists, have taken them hostage and cannot express their main truth in a real way, claiming that they know it well.
Regarding the two legendary stories in the history of the identity of Pashtuns and highlighting it in different periods of the country’s history by previous kings and Pashtun writers, he said: “Nazwana, Malali and Maiwand do not exist outside, both of them are born from the minds of people who create characters and create myths.” In addition, there are certain circles that, according to him, the creation of such fake and illusory legends cannot create character, history and identity.
