RASC News Agency: The representative of Albania in the United Nations said that what the Taliban group imposed on Afghanistan citizens, especially women and girls, and used violent behavior against them, is a crime.
At the meeting of the United Nations Security Council, which was held on September 26, under the leadership of this country regarding the situation in Afghanistan, Farit Khoja added that the reports of killing, torture, detention and mistreatment of employees and soldiers of the former government of Afghanistan by the Taliban led his country to become concern.
The representative of this country in the United Nations added that due to the illegal killings, detention and torture of the employees and soldiers of the former government of Afghanistan by the Taliban group; it is perceived that this group has no desire to fulfill their commitments regarding amnesty and international human rights laws.
The representative of Albania added that the Taliban group is trying to show itself as a promoter of the economy and a guarantor of security, which is a “false image”.
“To date, there are no indicators that the general population is benefiting from economic benefits,” the Albanian official said. “We still see extreme poverty and suffering, with nearly two-thirds of the population relying on humanitarian aid to survive.”
Mr. Khoja also expressed concern about the presence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and said that Afghanistan is becoming a favorable ground for radicalization of youth.
He also added that if the Taliban group is looking for recognition, they should change their policies in front of the people and get it.
Meanwhile, in addition to Albania, the representatives of a number of other countries also expressed concern at the Security Council meeting about the presence of terrorist groups, the violation of the rights of women and girls, and the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
