RASC News Agency: Freedom Now, an American organization, called on the Taliban to end oppression against activists and civil society actors.
Yesterday, on September 1, this American institution, in response to the arrest of Matiullah Wisa, an educational activist and Rasul Parsi writer, called for the release of these two civil activists by the Taliban group in a message on social media X (Twitter).
According to the statement of this institution, these two people are in the prison of the Taliban group without a valid reason.
This institution added: “We ask the Taliban group to release them immediately and to end the ongoing process of oppression and tyranny against actors and civil activists.”
The Taliban group arrested Matiullah Wisa, an education activist and the founder of Rah Qalam Association, on Monday evening, March 27, this year in Kabul.
In connection with his arrest, the Taliban group said that Wisa was engaged in arbitrary activities.
Likewise, Rasul Parsi, a university professor and writer, was also arrested in Kabul late last winter by the intelligence of the Taliban group without providing any reason.
The arrest of these two education activists and writers by the Taliban group met with many reactions from the international institutions, but the Taliban group has not yet paid attention to the request of any of the international institutions for their release.
This is despite the fact that the Taliban group has always suppressed and acted violently against civil activists, especially activists in the field of education, since their domination of the country.
It should be noted that ever since the establishment of this group, increasing restrictions have been imposed on the field of education for women and girls.
