RASC News Agency: Following the recent government changes in Afghanistan, the dominance of the Taliban group and the increasing restrictions of this group on Afghanistani women and girls, mental health experts in this country say that these restrictions on Afghanistani women and girls have caused a significant increase in depression among this group.
According to mental health experts, imposing restrictions on women’s work and education has caused a large number of Afghanistani women and girls to suffer from various mental illnesses.
In a report dated July 7, the Washington Post newspaper said that most of the patients in these hospitals are girls and women who are struggling with depression and mental pressure.
The Taliban group has now turned Afghanistani women and girls, who had significant achievements in various sectors during the twenty years of the republican system, into house prisoners.
Their most basic rights have been violated by the Taliban group, their right to work, education, study and sightseeing has been taken away from them, and even restrictions have been imposed on the nature of their clothing and presence in the community.
A large number of Afghanistani women and girls under the rule of the Taliban speak of burying their ideals and dreams, which have been disintegrated by the dominance of this group and have prepared the ground for increasing depression and mental problems.
Despite the fact that the restrictions imposed on Afghanistani women and girls by the Taliban group have repeatedly faced reactions and waves of protests from citizens and human rights defenders since two years ago, this group still continues its repressive policies against women and these repressions is increasing every day.
