RASC News Agency: According to local sources from Kunduz province, a young man in Khanabad district of this province has ended his life with a bullet.

Sources have told the media that after seven years of engagement, this young man committed suicide with a rifle and ended his life due to economic problems and the mistreatment of his father-in-law’s family.

According to the sources, this young man was a resident of Khanabad district of Kunduz province and committed suicide in his father-in-law’s house in front of his fiance due to non-payment of dowry.

The family of this young man’s fiance had set 700,000 Kabuli/Afghani rupees as a precondition for his marriage.

According to the sources, this young man recently returned to Afghanistan from Iran and has been working in Iran for several years. Nevertheless, with the money he had sent over the years, his father married him a second time.

This is despite the fact that the number of suicides has recently increased in the country.

At the same time, according to the experts, mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, the use of drugs and especially marijuana, the unfortunate events prevailing in Afghanistan such as poverty, hunger and unemployment, family violence, forced marriages and emotional relationships are among the causes and factors of youth suicide in Afghanistan.

According to them, there is no decisive and all-round support for teenagers in families, there is violence in families, and families expect a lot from teenagers. When they cannot fulfill the young people’s wishes, they feel little and hopeless, then they commit suicide.
