RASC News Agency: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that Afghanistani refugees are the third largest displaced population in the world after Syrian and Ukrainian refugees.

OCHA published a report on Thursday, August 10, saying that currently there are at least 8.2 million Afghanistanis in 103 countries, of which most of them live in Pakistan and Iran.

According to this institution, many Afghanistani refugees return to their country after decades due to the increase in the cost of living in Iran and Pakistan and the desire to rebuild their lives.

The number of Syrian and Ukrainian asylum seekers is not mentioned in the report.

This is despite the fact that two years have passed since the domination of the Taliban group, with each passing day a large number of citizens of the country have gone to other countries using legal and illegal routes.

Security problems and threats, economic instability and poverty are considered the main causes of these migrations.

However, in recent months, Turkey and Iran have accelerated the process of expelling illegal Afghanistani refugees from that country.
