RASC: The Taliban group in Parwan province collects a portion of farmers’ produce as tithe and appropriates it for themselves.
One of the farmers of this province says that after nine months of hard work, he harvested a total of 11 bushels of wheat from his land, but the Taliban took three bushels from him as tithe.
The mentioned person adds that during this period, he was not even able to get the amount of money he spent, but the Taliban group took nearly a third of it, I do not know how to complete my grain until the next results.
Meanwhile, a source confirmed to RASC news agency that the Taliban group has appointed a representative in all the villages to collect tithes from the farmers’ crops.
He adds that if someone refuses to give tithe, the Taliban group will force him to comply with their demands using weapons.
The local people, who’s all their food for a year, are these lands harvests, say that this action of the Taliban group is very heavy for the farmers in this situation of unemployment, and they cannot solve their economic problems.
They say that chemical fertilizers are expensive, they are threatened by drought, they cannot get spring crops in the absence of water, and they do not have a regular market to sell their materials.
It is the basis that taking tithes by the Taliban group means hanging poor people.
The title is the same as in the past that they said: “Take a poor’s life and not his bread.”
It is worth mentioning that this action of the Taliban group mostly takes place in Tajik-inhabited areas, and in Pashtun-inhabited areas, they are mostly Taliban themselves or they are collaborating with the Taliban.
