RASC: Referring to the restrictions imposed by the Taliban group on Afghanistani women, Malala Day and the lawsuit for the rights of Afghanistani women, Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs, says that full access to education is an inalienable right of Afghanistani women and girls.

July 12, the birthday of Malala Yousafzai, human rights activist from Pakistan and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has been named “Malala Day” by the United Nations.

In 2012, 15-year-old Malala was suing for girls’ access to education in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state of Pakistan, which was under the rule of the Pakistani Taliban. She was the target of an armed attack and was seriously injured.

On Malala’s birthday, the US Special Representative tweeted: “On Malala Day, we remember the lawsuit for the right to education.” “Afghanistani women and girls are the greatest capital for the future of Afghanistan, and they deserve full access to education to reach their potential.”

It should be mentioned that since the Taliban took control of the country, girls above the sixth grade were banned from going to school.

In addition to the fact that this decision of the Taliban group faced negative reactions from the world, but this group still insists on its decision.
