RASC: During a meeting with the country’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, Pakistan’s foreign minister has announced his country’s readiness to cooperate with the Taliban group in order to ensure peace and security in the region.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated this in a tweet on Sunday, June 25.
It is said that in this meeting, he emphasized the joint fight against terrorism, trade with the Taliban group, and the completion of the country’s development projects in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, no more information has been provided regarding Pakistan’s planned projects in Afghanistan.
Pakistan was one of the first countries that handed over the Afghanistan embassy in Islamabad to this group after the Taliban regained control over the country.
In addition, Pakistani officials have spoken several times in international meetings about the support of the Taliban group and called for more interaction of the world with this group.
One of the demands of the government of Pakistan from the Afghan Taliban is to fight against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is active on the borders of the two countries.
The foreign minister of Pakistan has emphasized on cooperation with the Taliban, while this group has transferred a large number of TTP fighters from the border points to the northern and northeastern provinces of the country after Islamabad’s request.
Based on the recent report of the United Nations Security Council, the Taliban group continues to have continuous relations with at least 20 terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda, which are among the serious threats to the security of the region and the world.
