RASC: According to Fran Ekiza, head of the United Nations Children’s Fund office in Afghanistan, nearly 16 million children in the country need care.

A video of Mr. Ekiza’s speech has been broadcast among children in Daikundi province today, Thursday, June 15.

In this video, he said that these children need to receive help, and considering child labor, most of them are entrusted with responsibility beyond their age and their rights are violated.

Showing the place that this institution has prepared for children in Daikundi, Mr. Ekiza says that like places, it provides a safe space for children to learn, play, relax and make friends.

He informed about the help of local UNICEF employees to teach reading, writing, and said that these spaces were built with the financial assistance of the European Union.

He appreciates the European Union’s financial support for the organization’s programs in Afghanistan.

Before this, Mr. Ekiza had said that children are the most vulnerable part of this area due to the crisis of spreading poverty.

He asked the international community to support the programs of this institution to help and deal with the situation of Afghanistani children.
