Al-Qaeda has Training Bases in the Provinces of Afghanistan

RASC: Reports indicate the establishment of training bases in five provinces and the existence of safe houses and infrastructure by Al-Qaeda throughout the country.

According to Long War Journal, the resurgence of Al-Qaeda is nothing more than an illusion that the American anti-terrorist operation will curb terrorism from the so-called “over the horizon”.

The United Nations analytical monitoring team has revealed the existence of Al-Qaeda training bases inside Afghanistan.

This team published its report on Afghanistan on June 9.

Several former Taliban officials have told this publication in the past that Al-Qaeda has been setting up and managing training centers in Afghanistan, but they do not have the capacity to provide the space.

According to the UN report, Al-Qaeda bases are located in five different provinces of Afghanistan: Helmand in the south, Zabul in the southeast, Nangarhar in the east, Nuristan in the northeast, and Badghis in the west.

In addition, the United Nations reported that Al-Qaeda has established “safe houses in Farah, Helmand, Herat, and Kabul” and has established a media operations center in Herat.

It should be mentioned that Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban group, rejected the UN report and called it far from the truth.
