Abdullah Abdullah Condemns U.S. Airstrike on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities as Aggressive Violation of International Law

RASC News Agency: Abdullah Abdullah, former Chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, has unequivocally condemned the recent U.S. airstrike targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, branding the attack as an act of aggression, provocation, and a blatant violation of international legal norms. In an official statement released on Sunday, June 22, Abdullah underscored the heightened sensitivity of the current regional landscape, asserting that “the assault on Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations not only constitutes a direct threat to the country’s sovereign rights but also represents a perilous step toward further destabilization of the Middle East and the escalation of cross-regional conflicts.”

Abdullah further accused the U.S. of executing the strike under the influence and encouragement of the “Zionist regime,” framing the operation as part of a deliberate strategy to exacerbate the already volatile crises engulfing the region. He expressed deep concern that “direct American involvement in confrontational dynamics with Iran, rather than reinforcing diplomatic channels, exemplifies the troubling duplicity of global powers in upholding state sovereignty and regional security.” Referencing recent diplomatic engagements between Tehran and European nations, Abdullah cautioned that “such hostile military maneuvers only serve to deepen mistrust and could significantly impede ongoing dialogue and peacebuilding efforts.”

Warning of broader repercussions, Abdullah highlighted that the continuation of these provocative acts risks igniting wider conflict across neighboring states. He called upon the international community and global institutions to refrain from silence in the face of these “illegal and inhumane actions.” The former Afghanistani leader stressed that “the conscience of the global community must rise against such injustices and prevent the region from becoming further victimized by the aggressive and destabilizing policies of extra-regional powers.”
