RASC News Agency: A Taliban commander has released a video message, declaring the group’s intent to launch an attack on Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. In the footage, the unidentified Taliban militant directly addresses Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, warning:
“One day, we will enter Dushanbe and put an end to your ongoing oppression.” The commander denounces Tajikistan’s secular governance, asserting that the country must be “Islamized” and its people “guided” toward the true faith”. While the exact date of the recording remains unclear, he proclaims:
“We are advancing day by day. Tajikistan is within our reach, and whenever we wish, we will march into Dushanbe.”
In the same video, he calls upon the people of Afghanistan to join the Taliban in waging jihad against Tajikistan, insisting that holy war against the neighboring country is a religious duty. Ironically, while this Taliban figure speaks of “oppression” in Tajikistan, the Taliban regime itself has systematically violated the rights of Afghanistani citizens. Reports of widespread atrocities under their rule continue to surface, including a recent incident in Takhar province, where Taliban members allegedly sexually assaulted and then beheaded a 13-year-old girl.
Since seizing power, the Taliban have brutally suppressed Afghanistani citizens, yet they now issue threats against Tajikistan. Previously, Taliban commander Amanuddin made similar remarks, claiming that if permitted by Taliban leadership, he could swiftly seize Kulyab and Badakhshan in Tajikistan.
