RASC News Agency: Rahmatullah Andar, former spokesperson for the National Security Council of the Republic, has suggested that Pakistan might once again “sell” the Taliban to the United States, much like it has done in the past with other militant groups. Andar emphasized that Islamabad appears to be reviving its historical strategy arresting members of ISIS and Al-Qaeda and handing them over to Washington. He argued that Pakistan is locked in a power struggle with the Taliban and is determined to subjugate the group entirely. According to Andar, the ongoing conflicts in the region are driven by financial incentives rather than ideology, with Pakistan’s economy deeply intertwined with warfare.
He accused Islamabad of first nurturing extremist groups under the banner of jihad, only to later rebrand them as terrorists and exchange them for political and financial leverage. Citing the recent attack in Mastung, Andar suggested that Pakistan is using ISIS as a geopolitical tool to serve its own interests. Addressing the Taliban directly, he remarked:
“Yesterday, they exploited the Mujahideen, before that, they used you, and today, they are manipulating ISIS as a pawn. Tomorrow, they will create another faction to destabilize Afghanistan. So why did you once deny being Pakistan’s proxies?” Andar warned that any armed faction lacking financial and logistical independence will inevitably be reduced to a mere instrument in the hands of foreign powers.
He stressed that this pattern will persist unless Afghanistan acknowledges the proxy nature of its war and confronts the forces fueling its perpetual instability. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Jaafar, the suspect behind the deadly attack at Kabul International Airport, has been apprehended by Pakistani authorities.
