RASC News Agency: The latest findings from Afghanistan Security Watch indicate that 22 security incidents were recorded across Afghanistan in January 2025. Among these incidents, nine were attributed to anti-Taliban resistance forces, while three were carried out by ISIS (Daesh). Afghanistan Security Watch published its findings on Monday through its X (formerly Twitter) account, detailing security-related events across Afghanistan during the month of January.

According to this report, the number of incidents claimed by anti-Taliban resistance groups was 17 fewer compared to December. The organization had previously reported that 39 security incidents took place across Afghanistan in December, primarily carried out by anti-Taliban factions, including the National Resistance Front (NRF) and the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF). Afghanistan Security Watch, while referencing three ISIS-led attacks in January, clarified that two occurred in Baghlan province and one in Takhar. Additionally, at least three “unidentified” attacks were recorded in Kabul, Takhar, and Herat, with the perpetrators remaining unknown.

Findings from the organization further highlight that security incidents were most concentrated in Herat, Kabul, Baghlan, Kunduz, Parwan, Takhar, Kapisa, and Khost. Additionally, Afghanistan Security Watch reported the documentation of over 500 separate incidents within Taliban-controlled institutions nationwide; however, it did not provide further details regarding the exact nature of these incidents.
