According to local sources, the victims were shot dead by unidentified gunmen inside their home on the afternoon of Friday, December 13, in the village of Roy Sang, Kohmard District. The Taliban have confirmed the incident and announced the arrest of a suspect. In a statement issued by the Taliban governor’s office in Bamyan, it was claimed that the murders stemmed from a “personal dispute” and that a suspect had been apprehended in connection with the case.
This incident underscores a growing trend of criminal activities in Afghanistan, where lawlessness has reached alarming levels. Over the past three days alone, ten individuals have been killed across the provinces of Herat, Ghazni, Nangarhar, Laghman, Paktika, and Badakhshan in various violent incidents. Notably, a significant portion of these killings is reportedly perpetrated by Taliban members themselves.
